WHO WAS MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK?
Mustafa Kemal Pasha Ataturk (1881-1938) was the founder of the Republic of Turkey. He served Turkey as an army officer, as a revolutionary statesman, as a famous writer and as its first president. Mustafa Ataturk came into the spotlight after showing extraordinary courage during the First World War. He was the gathering power behind the Turkish revolution towards freedom. Ataturk became the first president of the free turkey and embarked on the reform of the country’s political, economic and cultural reforms. He sought to transform the turkey of the state ruled by the Ottoman Empire into a country of the free and secular world.

The education of modern society received emphasis on the Islamic educational system. The old madras of a system in the country were completely reformed and modernized.
