OLM – MAĞARA SEMENDERİ

Olm is a blind, cave-dwelling salamander, also called the proteus and the “human fish”, for its pale, pinkish skin. It has spent so long adapting to life in caves that it’s mostly blind, hunting instead with various supersenses including the ability to sense electricity. It never grows up, retaining the red, feathery gills of its larval form even when it becomes sexually mature at sweet sixteen. It stays this way for the rest of its remarkably long life, and it can live past 100.

The Osprey bird (Pandion haliaetus) is a medium-large raptor which is a specialist fish-eater with a worldwide distribution. It occurs in all continents around the world except for Antarctica, but in South America only as a non-breeding migrant. The Osprey bird is often known by other colloquial names such as ‘fishhawk’, ‘seahawk’ or ‘Fish Eagle’. Because the Osprey bird is a species with many unique characteristics it has therefore been given its own taxonomic genus, Pandion, and family, Pandionidae.

OSTRICH – DEVEKUŞU

Ostriches are large, flightless birds. They are between 2.1 and 2.8 m (7 – 9.25 ft) in height, they have a wingspan of approximately 2 m (6.6 ft) and they weigh between 100 and 160 kgs (220 – 350 lbs). OTTER – SU SAMURU
